Pearl Quinn-Williams

Senator · Returning Candidate

Pearl Quinn-Williams is among the most distinguished women ever to serve in the UPP's parliamentary ranks. A retired banking professional with 28 years of experience across personal and business banking, she rose to national prominence when she led the charge to retain the Privy Council as the country's final court of appeal ahead of the 2018 constitutional referendum - her rallying cry, "Trust is a Must," became a defining phrase of that campaign. She is the sister of Jacqui Quinn-Leandro, the first woman elected to Antigua and Barbuda's Parliament - a legacy she acknowledges while carving her own political identity. Quinn-Williams was appointed to the Senate in November 2024 by Leader of the Opposition Jamale Pringle, where she has proven herself a rigorous legislative voice: advocating for an elected Senate, championing SIDS rights on global financial platforms, and scrutinising every bill on its merits rather than partisan lines. In the 2023 elections, she polled 45.6% in St. John's Rural North. Now contesting City East - a seat Harold Lovell narrowly lost by six votes - Quinn-Williams is positioned to apply her banking expertise and constitutional literacy to one of the most watched constituencies in the capital. Her platform emphasises economic justice, good governance, and inclusive representation.
